Why ESPON Programme is felled as full of policy implications more than scientific suggestions

Recent Helsinki meeting (November 2006) has both marked the end of the ESPON Programme 2000-2006 and re-lunched some scientific topic questions. Between them, there is what Christer Bengs has called “alleged policy implications” of the ESPON project into his article published on the October 2006 number and titled “ESPON in context”. This theme was present and strongly discussed during the Helsinki meeting; nevertheless it cannot consider itself exhausted, although the several critical participations. In the following some of these thesis are going to be discussed.
