La normativa di Annibale della Genga cardinale vicario di Roma

The paper illustrates the set of rules issued by Annibale della Genga during the period in which he held the office of Vicar of Rome (12 May 1820 - 28 September 1823), aimed at the regulation of liturgical celebrations, moralization of behaviors, maintenance of decorum and public order in the city of Rome. It is directed both to the laity and to the ecclesiastics and shows the cultural moralizing imprint of the future Pope Leo XII. A short report is also given of the immediately subsequent vicarial regulation, up to the closing of the Holy Year 1825, issued by the vicars della Porta and Zurla. The writing is followed by an Appendix with the list of various types of documents (edicts, orders, invitations, notifications, instructions) kept in State Archives of Rome.
