Between the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century, the theatrical scene becomes a mirror of the changing contemporary society and culture, rapidly transforming fashion and costumes. The attention then focuses on the endless possibilities of expression of the dancer/actor's body, as a result of the liberation from the constraints of stage costumes, as well as prejudices, which was a conquest obtained by certain avant-gardes, looking for new ways and new forms of expression.
