STeMA: A TERRITORIAL INTEGRATED STRATEGY FOR THE SUSTAINABLE, COMPETITIVE AND COHESIVE (TOURISTIC) PLANNING

In order to reduce imbalances and to improve regional and local development capacity in Mediterranean macro-region, a closer trans-national cooperation is needed, mainly when devoted to capitalization of experiences and protection of historical and cultural heritage in the framework of promotion a real sustainable tourist development. Inspired by the experience of NewCiMed project (New Cities of The Mediterranean Sea Basin - ENPI CBC Med Programme)1, the paper discusses how STeMA geographical methodology and its approach were able to better promoting a sustainable and harmonious planning integrated process to this scope.
