This volume explores the fascinating territory of the way in which the spectacle has been deployed into museum and exhibition settings, something that has not yet been explored to its full potential. The authors have opted to focus on three individual sectors: the scenography and space, the performer and costume. All three sections are analysed using paradigmatic examples and they are independently researched by way of methods, reflections and criticism. The difficulty of obtaining photographs of temporary exhibitions has not prevented the discovery of countless images that appear throughout this volume and these illustrate the debates, the spaces and the display choices. Although the main emphasis is placed on theatre, this book concerns a wider field of research that denotes crossing over into other territories such as film, opera and dance.

Abstract
This volume explores the fascinating territory of the way in which the spectacle has been deployed into museum and exhibition settings, something that has not yet been explored to its full potential. The authors have opted to focus on three individual sectors: the scenography and space, the performer and costume. All three sections are analysed using paradigmatic examples and they are independently researched by way of methods, reflections and criticism. The difficulty of obtaining photographs of temporary exhibitions has not prevented the discovery of countless images that appear throughout this volume and these illustrate the debates, the spaces and the display choices. Although the main emphasis is placed on theatre, this book concerns a wider field of research that denotes crossing over into other territories such as film, opera and dance.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
