A study was conducted on the fiftyfold improvement in the number of quantum degenerate Fermionic atoms. The quantum degenerate Fermi gas was produced by sympathetic cooling with bosonic 23Na in the upper hyperfine ground state. The Fermi gas thus produced, was comparable in size with the largest alkali Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC).

Abstract
