For an adequate research on the common good it is important to rediscover some basic conditions and dimensions which are at the border between anthropology and politics. Without these aspects the research itself is likely to vanish. It concerns spiritual, ethical and relational prospects particularly important in that direction. This is the topic of the essay presented here rediscovering relections proposed by Jacques Maritain and Karl Jaspers still useful today to answer the crucial question concerning the common good.
