In the first half of the II millennium B.C. in Mesopotamia and Syria the relationship from men and water was very interesting. On one hand, the mythological record of the Universal Flood, as catastrophic event sent to the earth by the Gods to punish the men, is very common and we have some poems about it, on the other hand the kings of that period had the knowledge to well manage the rivers and the channel, and to escape floods from the Tigris and the Euphrates. If the Nature depends from the will of Gods, the Gods link the Nature to the human conduct: if the men are good, the Nature is good, if the men are bad, the Nature is bad. So, the catastrophic events are caused by the human actions, and the good kings must provide a good management of the rivers to escape floods.
