The off-axis configuration of the FA centers in KF : Li+ has been evaluated from photostimulated reorientation experiments. We performed transient and kinetic measurements at 77 K of the crystal absorption coefficient and stationary emission measurements at 2 K. The experiments give an average off-axis angle θ = 14° ± 2°. Moreover, the spectral features of the FA (Li) emission band in KF have been determined, and the temperature dependence of the band width has been found to follow the expected behavior. © 1990.

Abstract

The off-axis configuration of the FA centers in KF : Li+ has been evaluated from photostimulated reorientation experiments. We performed transient and kinetic measurements at 77 K of the crystal absorption coefficient and stationary emission measurements at 2 K. The experiments give an average off-axis angle θ = 14° ± 2°. Moreover, the spectral features of the FA (Li) emission band in KF have been determined, and the temperature dependence of the band width has been found to follow the expected behavior. © 1990.
