X-ray and neutron diffraction line broadening measurements have been carried out on a modified martensitic steel DIN 1.4914 for fusion technology (MANET) after quenching followed by tempering treatments at 700 degrees C. The results of the two experiments are discussed with reference to Cr redistribution phenomena in the matrix.

Abstract
