A series of air photographs shot in 1957 reveals traces of previous hydrography and of some linear features. These are interpreted as lines of delimitation in the centuriatio system of the colony of Aquileia (founded in 181 B.C., with a supplementum in 169 B.C.) and of inner divisions.
