In this letter, the authors present an analytical formulation to evaluate the outage probability of a satellite communication system at an extremely high-frequency band when a macro site diversity scheme is employed to mitigate propagation impairments. In particular, the authors generalize the results for smart gateway diversity configurations, supporting the outage of more than one single gateway station. It was verified that the proposed analytical model has good agreement with numerical results.

Abstract
In this letter, the authors present an analytical formulation to evaluate the outage probability of a satellite communication system at an extremely high-frequency band when a macro site diversity scheme is employed to mitigate propagation impairments. In particular, the authors generalize the results for smart gateway diversity configurations, supporting the outage of more than one single gateway station. It was verified that the proposed analytical model has good agreement with numerical results.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
